On a day like today, July 19th 1979, the Nicaraguan people made the world tremble by overthrowing one of the most ferocious dictatorships in Latin America, the Somoza regime. They did so with courage, with dignity, with their blood, in a popular insurrection that marked the history of the world's Peoples fighting for their freedom.
