THE GLOBAL GOVERNANCE INITIATIVE
OF PRESIDENT XI JINPING
DECLARATION OF ACCESSION TO THE
GLOBAL GOVERNANCE INITIATIVE (IGG)
On September 1st 2025, the President of the sister People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus Meeting, proposed the “Global Governance Initiative (GGI)” as a fundamental guideline to safeguard the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, aimed at promoting the construction of a more just and rational system of global governance, working together for the community of a shared future for humanity.
This Initiative is based on the Sovereign Equality of States, the International Rule of Law, Multilateralism, a People-centered approach and genuine actions aimed at strengthening cooperation, responding to the common challenges of humanity, reducing the North-South divide and better defending the common interests of all countries.
The Republic of Nicaragua as a Revolutionary, Free, Sovereign and Independent State, which bases its international relations on respect, friendship, complementarity and solidarity among Peoples as well as reciprocity based on the Sovereignty of States, adheres to the "Initiative for Global Governance (IGG)", proposed by the President of the sister People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, with the assurance that we will continue to forge paths for the benefit of our Peoples and in defense of Independence, Sovereignty, Self-Determination, Security and Peace for all the Peoples of the World.
