Dear Sir:
We offer greetings taking the opportunity of referring to the prejudiced and biased publications your Organization has made, full of deceptions and manipulations, totally distant from the true reality of Nicaragua’s people and Families.
UNHCR, as a Subsidiary Organ of the United Nations General Assembly, has set aside its nature, as agreed by the member Nations, and become an instrument of manipulation, double standards and interference in the internal affairs of States, in the service of those Powers which still do not accept the right of Peoples and Nations to their Sovereignty and Self-Determination.
Your Organization applies disparate assessments between countries, being permissive, tolerant and totally indifferent to the irrational barbarities committed by Powerful Countries against developing countries.
For the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua, these practices contravene the principles established in the Charter of the United Nations and violate the Sovereignty of our People, which is why we have taken the irrevocable decision not to continue being part of this Body.
We therefore notify you of our sovereign decision to withdraw immediately from the UN Agency for Refugees, UNHCR.
