SONG OF HOPE
A great flight of crows stains the blue sky.
Breath a thousand years old, threatens plague.
In the Far East, people are murdered.
Is this the birth of the apocalyptic Antichrist?
Omens have been noted, prodigies seen,
at hand may be the Return of Christ.
The earth is pregnant with pain so deep
that any dreamer reflecting on empire,
suffers the heartache of the very soul of the world.
Executioners of ideals afflict the earth,
and in a pit of shadows humanity is imprisoned
with crude thugs of hatred and war.
Oh, Lord Jesus Christ!, why take so long? Why do you wait before
stretching out your hand of light over the savage beasts
and making your divine banners shine out in the Sun?
You appear suddenly, pouring out life's essence
over so very many crazed, sad and apathetic souls,
who, in love with darkness, have forgotten the sweetness of the Dawn.
Come, Lord, make clear your glory,
with trembling stars and the horror of cataclysm.
Come, so love and peace may reign over the abyss.
And your pure white horse, with its visionary gaze, will appear. And give the extraordinary, divine clarion call
for my heart to swing as an ember of your incense.

At the end of another Year, which we have lived through with Hope, we all gather together as a Great Nicaraguan Family, celebrating ourselves along with our Combative Brothers and Sisters of the World, as Victorious People, People of God, working resolutely to bring about our Purposes, and to create the best possible conditions of Life for Industrious Families in Dignified Homes,across all this Sacred and Blessed Nation of Ours, built from our Sacred Rights.
We conclude a Year of Commitments to Peace, seeking Harmony and Understanding among Everyone, for the Sake of Everyone, recognizing that the Wisdom, Sensitivity, Knowledge and Undefeated Heroism of the world's Peoples, of our Great Nicaraguan People, guides our steps, because God is among the People through their Great Spirituality, and so we know how to find him, listen to him and obey him.
We are infinitely grateful for every step forward we have taken, aware of our Responsibilities, forging Unity, Tranquility, Security and the Grandeur of Labor, our Dignified Laurel, all the Work we do each day, proudly and joyfully, the result of all our Certainties, Encouraged and Faithful for what God has given us, and goes on giving us.
While we fight against the vices and deadly sins, such as selfishness, greed, gluttony, and lies, or the calamity of heartbreak and the misfortune of hatred that takes over, destroys and undermines the Heart of Humanity, we are fervent Believers in the Right of all the World's Peoples to a Dignified and Durable Peace embodying Truth, Justice, Historical Memory and the development of all that is Good, repairing all the damage and suffering inflicted by the catastrophes of colonialist and imperialist wars, which continue to afflict the Human Family.
In Christian Brother and Sisterhood, in Solidarity, which is our daily Banner and Insignia, we know and solemnly believe that our Liberating Mission is inscribed in the Book of Times, recorded and engraved as a Commandment of Divine Law, as a Mission of Love, of Brother and Sisterhood, of Neighborliness and a Community in Permanent Communion, of Justice and Peace.
And so, as we begin another exemplary Year, making our way, going onward, we continue to cultivate and reap the Fruits and Miracles of Integrity and Decency that are so Consistent and Congruent with our History, and too in our glorious belonging to the Sense of a Planetary Family.
We commit ourselves all, each and every one, to continue resonating in Fraternal Generosity, sharing aspirations and transcending together all the vices and miseries that we must leave behind, burying for good, as we do not doubt that they will be, all selfishness and cruelty.
Our Hearts are in every place in this World wherever Human Beings suffer injustices and crimes that darken us all. Our Hearts condemn the hell and humiliation of war, and fervently ask God for the genocides to cease and for Peoples, like the Heroic Palestinians, to be set free from slavery, from irrational evil and hatred, and for Peace, intense, beautiful, honorable, dignified and luminous, to shine, to advance and to prosper.
Nicaragua, the Privileged Nation of Rubén Darío, Blessed Land of the General of Free Men and Women and Profound Spiritual Visionary, Augusto Nicolás Sandino, our Nicaragua, sings of Hope, and cries out for Christ Jesus to "extend his hand of light over the savage beasts and to make his Divine Banners shine out in the Sun."
