NICARAGUA OF VICTORIES,
SALUTES THE XXV SESSION OF ALBA-TCP
Friday, December 13th 2024
Comrade Yvan Gil
Minister for Foreign Affairs
of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Compañeras and Compañeros of this Working Meeting of the Delegations of the ALBA–TCP Member Countries
Compañero Jorge Arreaza
Executive Secretary ALBA TCP
Comandante Daniel Ortega Saavedra, President of the Republic of Nicaragua and Compañera Vice President Rosario Murillo Zambrana, send their fraternal greetings, with their best wishes for the Health, Peace and Prosperity of each of you and for your Peoples and Governments, on this date when we celebrate and commemorate a significant milestone in the history of our region: the Twentieth Anniversary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA - TCP).
This Anniversary invites us to reflect on our Achievements and reaffirm our Commitment to the Values and Principles that have guided us along this difficult Path, with the challenges and aggression we have overcome, so as to achieve sustained Victories.
Since its foundation by the much remembered Comandantes Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, ALBA-TCP has been a Beacon of Hope, Solidarity and Cooperation between our Peoples. In these 20 years, we have worked hard to promote Social Justice, Equity and Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our Cooperation Projects have improved the lives of millions of people, from Literacy to Healthcare and to Energy.
ALBA-TCP has been a genuine expression of Latin American and Caribbean Unity. Throughout these twenty years, we have seen how our collaboration has strengthened the Economic, Political and Social Independence of its Member Countries.
This Anniversary of ALBA-TCP is also convergent in that it reminds us of the historic struggles that have shaped our spirit of Resistance and Freedom. Two centuries after the momentous Battle of Ayacucho, led by the Liberators Bolívar and Sucre, that emblem of the struggle for Latin American independence against Spanish colonialism continues to inspire us so as to continue defending the Sovereignty, Independence and Self-Determination of our Peoples. Today we continue to fight Battles for the Liberation of our Peoples from the clutches of Neoliberalism, Imperialism, Colonialism and Neo-Fascism.
Within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, ALBA is committed to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This global effort requires the Cooperation of all and, together, with a Spirit of Complementary Solidarity, we can indeed eradicate Poverty, protect the Planet and ensure Prosperity for all. Nicaragua, in this area, has shown significant progress in this direction, focusing on Education, Health, Infrastructure, Energy, Food Security and Gender Equity.
The Fight against Poverty and for Human Development, so as to eradicate Social Inequality are part of our Countries' fundamental tasks. The visible and concrete results in Health, Education, Infrastructures, Electrification, Development and Food Security, among others, are testimony of the People themselves, and the Nicaraguan People affirm themselves in their Revolutionary and Evolutionary Project that vindicates as correct the Path we have traveled and the validity of our Goals and Objectives for the Common Good.
Solidarity with the Palestinian People in their Just Struggle for Self-Determination is a Fundamental Principle of our Foreign Policy. We strongly support their Right to Live in Peace and Dignity, Free from Occupation and Violence. We advocate for a Just and Lasting Solution that guarantees the Peaceful Existence of the Palestinian State, recognizing it as a Member of the United Nations.
We live in a World in transformation towards a Multipolar Order, where Power and influence are not concentrated in a single Nation or group of Nations. Free Self-determination and National Sovereignty are Inalienable Rights of our Peoples. We firmly reject any form of external interference in our Internal Affairs, especially the intervention of US imperialism that seeks to impose its hegemony and control our Destinies, especially by means of imperialist practices seeking to undermine our Independence, Self-determination and National Dignity.
We strongly condemn the Unilateral Coercive Measures imposed by the United States against Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. These sanctions are not only unjust but also illegal under international law, and they seriously affect our Peoples, generating suffering and limiting our abilities to develop fully .
On this twentieth anniversary of ALBA, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working together to build a Future where Peace, Justice and Solidarity prevail. Together, with Determination and Unity, we will continue to defend our Principles, ensuring that our voices are heard on the global stage and that our Peoples thrive in a more Just and Equitable World.
The People and Government of Nicaragua salute Brother President Nicolás Maduro Moros, constitutional and legitimate President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, elected by the Sovereign Will of his People, to continue realizing the Dream of Bolívar, Martí, Sandino and of all our Native and Afro-descendant Peoples.
Long live the Fraternal Peoples of ALBA!
