PRESS RELEASE
The Eminent Expert in Education, Dr. Carlos Tünnermann Bernheim, who was Rector Magnifico of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua; a Member of the Group of Twelve in the period before the Revolutionary Triumph; Minister of Education of the Government of National Reconstruction in the Victory of the People with the Sandinista Popular Revolution, has left this Plane of Life.
We recognize the contribution of Dr. Carlos Tünnermann Bernheim, who as Minister of Education made a special contribution to the epic National Literacy Crusade. These contributions will be remembered with Gratitude in the Epic History of the Revolution, and particularly in the extraordinary story of the Great Feat of our People, teaching literacy throughout the Country.
Dr. Carlos Tünnermann Bernheim was also Nicaragua's Ambassador to Washington, from where he was expelled by the U.S. government in 1988.
We will keep him in our prayers. One is obliged to recognize what is valuable.
Our condolences to Rosa Carlota, his wife, his children, grandchildren, friends, and other relatives.
