World Peace Day Event, 21 September, 6pm

Join local Peace Educators and visiting Nicaraguan teacher Guillermo Bustillo Chavarria for an informal discussion on peace and education to celebrate the United Nations World Peace Day. Latino food available from 6pm. Talks begin at 7pm. Event ends at 8:30pm. Venue: La Ruca Café upstairs at 89 Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol BS7 8AS. Tickets free but donations welcome.

Ben Linder Solidarity School

Join this 9-week virtual course to study and strengthen solidarity with Nicaragua and its popular organisations like the Asociación de Trabajadores del Campo (Rural Workers Association). This course is available in English and Spanish. Classes will be taught from highly experienced internationalists, agroecologists, and organizers. This course is meant for anyone who is interested in strengthening internationalism. The course will run from 23 September - 18 November. Details here

Sanctions Impact on Nicaragua

What is the U.S. track record in Nicaragua and how has the country been impacted by sanctions imposed by the United States? Professor Rick Kohn, Erik Mar and Camila Escalante recently addressed these questions and discussed a current piece of legislation which is being considered by the U.S. Congress and which, if passed, will impose new sanctions on Nicaragua.
