The Central American University in Nicaragua (UCA) never generated a critical thought. Its mission was to train professionals to serve the system: remove their class consciousness and capacity for analysis, leaving them traitors to their country that can only lie and repeat theYankees’ script.
The 1987 Constitution established the obligation for 6% of the national budget to be earmarked for State-run universities. Since then, Sandinista administrations have allocated 6% to the UCA as well, although the Constitution only establishes the right to 6% for public universities.
The UCA never mentioned that the “modernization” of its facilities or the scholarships it granted were funded by the government of Nicaragua. All students in the country received this 6% subsidy, but public schools got less since it was also shared with the UCA. Many of those who are now upset over the dismantling of the main conspiracy center left to the gringos, went to the UCA thanks to government of Nicaragua subsidies.
After being co-opted by the gringos, whose funding removed any professors who questioned the system only to replace them with agents of the US, the UCA began to align itself with andserve the US plans of aggression against Nicaragua. In 2018 it openly became their main center of operations in the country.
Once La Prensa newspaper was dismantled, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference was prevented from serving US interests, and the NGOs that acted as agents of imperialism were closed, the UCA was the CIA’s main tool for continuing and expanding its aggression against Nicaragua.
The Nicaraguan State has a legitimate right to recover the billions and billions of Córdobas invested in the UCA by placing it at the service of the majority, and to defend itself against those who are serving a foreign power that seeks to subjugate the people of Nicaragua, and would do away with our independence, sovereignty, and self-determination. Nicaragua will never again be a US colony!
