What Happened During the US-backed coup of 2018?
1.  This is the first article in a four-part series about what happened in 2018. Five Years Ago in Nicaragua a Coup Attempt Begins: Five years ago, Nicaragua was subject to a violent attempted coup that lasted from April through July, 2018. John Perry and Dan Kovalik look at how it was planned and how it started

2.  The second article in the series, Peaceful “Protest” a Tool for Regime Change focuses on the use of social media and regular media to fool the Nicaraguan population.

3.  Here's a link to a 20 minute video of testimony from people who defended the Alcaldía (Mayor’s offices)in Estelí against concerted armed attacks the afternoon and night of April 20th, 2018. The testimony of the people completely contradicts the false version in the reports of the IACHR, the UNOHCHR and the “expert” group of the UN Human Rights Council.

You are invited to the 44th anniversary of the revolution, July 19!
For this July 19th celebration you pay your own airfare and the government will cover your hotel, food, some transportation to events on July 18 and 19 (possibly on July 17 and 20). So you would arrive in Managua on July 16 or 17, they will pick you up and take you to a hotel (likely the one across the street from the airport – Las Mercedes, but could be another). You would leave on the 20th or 21st. Anything before the 16th or after the 21st is on you financially and in terms of planning.

And for anyone who wants to spend a modest amount of additional money and add on about five days, please see below - I am sure this program would be well worth it.

If you decide to come for any number of days – please send an email to: nan@nicasolidarity.net with your passport name, your airline plans and your phone number for Whatsapp. I will make a list in a month so they can plan for you in terms of hotel, activities and picking you up at the airport. Thanks so much - see below!
