Remarks by Compañera Rosario, Vice President of Nicaragua,
after the Ceremony for the Reception of Credentials from Ambassadors and Representatives of International Organizations

December 15, 2020

Good evening, Families, Dear Families of our Nicaragua. It has been a long, but beautiful, intense event, a journey through what we are, through the history of Struggle, of Courage, of the Nicaraguan People.

And when we look back in that way, when we see ourselves in different circumstances, always fighting and always insisting on respect for our Sovereignty and our National Dignity, our Decorum, on the one hand, we recognize ourselves in those great human beings this land has given us and who have represented us and bequeathed us the duty to defend.

They have represented the Defense of Life, the Defense of our Dignity, the Defense of our Homeland, the Defense of the Nation. Love for our Country, AMORANICARAGUA, and Love for Peace! Because what our people and Nicaraguan families want is to live in peace. To be respected !

It is simple, it is easy to say, but look how much struggle, over centuries, in order to be respected. And we know it is our duty to make ourselves respected, and we make ourselves respected to the extent that we are capable of fighting to defend our Peace, our Way of Life, our Culture, our Beliefs, our Traditions, our Ancestral Knowledge. That is what we defend, that is what we continue to defend, and will continue to defend, as Nicaraguan families, as women, as men, with Nicaraguan pride, with a sense of national identity, thank God.

And as we listen to Comandante Daniel with this masterful historical survey, we know that our destiny is Peace and Goodness. We have recovered Peace ! When we remember those horrendous anti-Christian moments... How can it be Christian to murder human beings, police officers, simply our comrades, to kill them and to burn them, and also to boast of the crimes, publishing the most aberrant tortures in the social networks... How can this behavior be Christian? How can someone bless that behavior...? How can anyone approve of such behavior...?

Well, there are those who have done it, they did it, and we believe that already at this moment there are many repentant ones, because they know that here we were doing very well, we were prospering, and that they closed down, they murdered the prosperity that we have now recovered, step by step. Because the Nicaraguan people are determined and we have convictions, and we are fighters, and we are workers, and we go, always with Hope, because faith in God, trust in God, feeds us that Hope!

So, these are days to thank Our Infant God for the recovery of Peace, because, step by step, we have also managed to strengthen the Tranquility, Security, Stability and the Certainty that the future belongs to Nicaraguans of Good Will. The future belongs to those of us who are Defenders of Peace and who live with Good Will, ready at all times to consolidate our Culture of Encounter, of Dialogue, of Reconciliation, of Work, Security, Peace, and Prosperity !

So, Compañer@s, these are days in which we cannot forget our History, where we came from, who we are, and where we are going... Days to celebrate that Great Spirit of Nicaraguans, to celebrate our little daily Victories, the small Triumphs of every day. God, the Sun that shines and does not decline, and that strengthens the Morale, the Impulse, the Optimism that characterizes us, the Joy of living in peace, the Joy of Fraternity, from the Dignity that all Nicaraguans have in high degree.

We are heading towards Christmas, we are heading towards the New Year, and everything that comes from Peace and Good, and everything full of Love, and everything made of Victorious Hopes.

Thank you Sisters and Brothers, let's advance !
