Great line up of speakers for Adelante!
Saturday 26 November, 10am-5pm, Congress House, London

The implications of yesterday’s UN vote on the blockade and the results of the US presidential elections for Cuba will be discussed at this year’s Latin America – Adelante! Conference 2016 which takes place at TUC Congress House on Saturday 26 November.

The largest event of the year for Latin America solidarity in Britain – now in its 12th year –will feature an impressive line up of ambassadors, academics, MPs, trade unionists, activists, campaigners, journalists and artists to discuss the politics of the region including plenary sessions in the main hall and many smaller, interactive seminars, film and much more.

Featuring contributions from over 50 speakers, from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Venezuela and the UK, speaking in 20 sessions to provide an insight into the history, culture, politics and progressive currents and threats in the region. The will also be a Latin American film festival and stalls throughout the day.

Joining Cuban Ambassador HE Teresita Vicente are Paul Oquist (Nicaraguan Minister for National Policy), Iván Márquez (Lead negotiator in Colombian peace talks- via video link), Francisco Torrealba (Venezuelan MP), HE Robert Calzadilla (Bolivian Ambassador), HE Guisell Morales-Echaverry (Nicaraguan Ambassador), Gabriel Rodriguez (International Transport Federation), Natasha Lycia Ora Bannan (President, US National Lawyers Guild) and Keith Bolender (Canadian academic).

British speakers include Ken Livingstone, Victoria Brittain, Andy De La Tour (actor and writer), Kate Hudson (CND), Lindsey German (Stop the War Coalition) and George Galloway.
