The New Phase of Globalization: The Noosphere

The present economic crisis has humanity at a horrible fork in  the road: either we follow the G-20, that insists on reviving  a corpse —the present model of globalized capitalism— that has  provoked the present world crisis and which, if it continues, can lead  us to an ecological and humanitarian tragedy, or we seek a new  paradigm, one that places the Earth, life and Humanity at the  center, with the economy at their service, following which a new  phase of civilization will commence, one that will guarantee  greater equity and humanness in all relations, starting with those of  production.  We have the sensation that we are now on a blind flight, and anything  can
happen.

From a reflexive point of view, two basic interpretations of the  crisis
appear: either it is about the tremors of the throes of  death, or we are
witnessing the pains of the birthing of a new being.  
I align myself with the second alternative, that of the pains of  birthing.
I refuse to accept that after millions of years of evolution on  this
planet, we will be expelled from it in future generations.  If we look back over
the anthropogenic process, we will doubtless see  that we have headed
towards higher forms of complexity and of orders which  are ever more
interdependent. The scene would then not be one of  death, but of a crisis that will
make us suffer greatly, but which will  purify us for a new endeavour in
civilization.  
It cannot be denied that globalization, even in its present iron  age, has
created the material conditions for all forms of relationships among  
peoples. In fact, a planetary consciousness has appeared. It is as if the brain  
had started to grow beyond the cranial box, due to the new technologies,  and
had penetrated more deeply into the mysteries of nature.  
The human being is hominizing the  entire planetary reality.  Whether the
Amazon remains  standing or is destroyed, whether species continue or become  
extinct, whether the soil and the air remain pure or are contaminated,  all
of that depends on human decisions. Earth and Humanity are forming a unique
 global entity. The central nervous system is composed of human brains ever
 more in synapsis, and endowed with a feeling of ownership and of  
collective responsibility. We look for multidimensional centers of observation,  
analysis, of thought and of government.  
In times past, starting with the geosphere, there  appeared lithosphere
(rocks), then the idrosphere  (water), then the atmosphere (air), afterwards  
the biosphere (life), and finally, the anthroposphere (human beings). Now
history has matured towards a more advanced epoch of  the evolutionary process,
the noosphere. Noosphere, as the  word itself says, (nous means mind and  
intelligence, in Greek,) expresses the convergence of minds and hearts,  
creating a higher and more complex unity. It is the beginning of a new history,  
the history of the Earth together with Humanity (conscious and intelligent  
expression of the Earth.)  
History advances through trials, successes and errors. We are  now
witnessing the birth of the noosphere phase, that cannot  yet attain hegemony, due
to the strength of an excluding  and uncooperative type of globalization,
which is  extremely fragile now, given the systemic crisis.    
But we are convinced that, conspiring to bring about this new era  —the
noosphere era— are the forces of the universe  that always bring about new
events. Our galaxy, and perhaps the  universe itself, moves as a function of
this convergence of diverse  emergencies. On planet Earth, a minuscule
blue-white dot lost in a derisory  galaxy, in a marginal solar system (27 thousand
light years from the  center of the galaxy), the noosphere is crystallizing
for us. It  is still fragile, but it brings a new sense of evolution. And it  
does not exclude the possible existence of other parallel worlds.  
The present crisis forces us to seek a way out, and this is  the noosphere.
Then we would see a communion of  the hearts and minds of human beings:
among themselves, with the  Earth, with all the universe and with the Attractor
of all things.

La actual crisis económica está colocando a la humanidad ante una  terrible
bifurcación: o sigue al G-20 que insiste en revitalizar a un moribundo  —el
modelo vigente del capitalismo globalizado— que ha provocado la actual  
crisis mundial y que, si continúa, podrá llevarnos a una tragedia ecológica y  
humanitaria, o intenta un nuevo paradigma que coloque a la Tierra, la vida y
la  Humanidad en el centro y la economía a su servicio, y entonces hará
nacer un  nuevo estadio de civilización que garantizará más equidad y humanidad
en todas  las relaciones, comenzando por las productivas.  
La sensación que tenemos es la de estar siguiendo un vuelo ciego y todo
puede  suceder.  
Desde un punto de vista reflexivo, se presentan dos interpretaciones
básicas  de la crisis: se trata de los estertores de un moribundo o de los dolores
de  parto de un nuevo ser.  
Me alineo con la segunda alternativa, la del parto. Me niego a aceptar que  
después de algunos millones de años de evolución sobre este planeta, seamos
 expulsados de él en las próximas generaciones. Si miramos hacia atrás, al  
proceso antropogénico, constamos indudablemente que hemos caminado hacia
formas  más altas de complejidad y órdenes cada vez más interdependientes. El
escenario  no sería de muerte sino de crisis, que nos hará sufrir mucho,
pero que nos  purificará para un nuevo ensayo civilizatorio.  
No se puede negar que la globalización, incluso en su actual edad de
hierro,  ha creado las condiciones materiales para todo tipo de relaciones entre
los  pueblos. De hecho ha surgido una conciencia planetaria. Es como si el
cerebro  comenzase a crecer fuera de la caja craneal por causa de las nuevas
tecnologías  y penetrase más profundamente en los misterios de la naturaleza.
 
El ser humano está hominizando toda la realidad planetaria. Si la Amazonia  
permanece en pie o es derribada, si las especies continúan o se extinguen,
si  los suelos y el aire se mantienen puros o contaminados, depende de
decisiones  humanas. Tierra y Humanidad están formando una única entidad global.
El sistema  nervioso central está constituido por los cerebros humanos cada
vez más en  sinapsis y llenos de un sentimiento de pertenencia y de
responsabilidad  colectiva. Buscamos centros multidimensionales de observación, de
análisis, de  pensamiento y de gobierno.  
En otro tiempo, a partir de la geosfera surgió la litosfera (rocas),
después  la hidrosfera (agua), luego la atmósfera (aire), posteriormente la
biosfera  (vida) y por último la antroposfera (ser humano). Ahora la historia ha
madurado  hacia una etapa más avanzada del proceso evolutivo, la de la
noosfera.  Noosfera, como dice la propia palabra (nous en griego significa mente e
 inteligencia), expresa la convergencia de mentes y corazones, originando
una  unidad más alta y más compleja. Es el comienzo de una nueva historia, la
 historia de la Tierra unida con la Humanidad (expresión consciente e
inteligente  de la Tierra).  
La historia avanza a través de tentativas, aciertos y errores. En los días  
actuales estamos asistiendo a la fase naciente de la noosfera, que no
consigue  todavía alcanzar la hegemonía debido a la fuerza de un tipo de
globalización  excluyente y poco cooperativa, ampliamente fragilizada ahora por
causa de la  crisis sistémica.  
Pero estamos convencidos de que para esta nueva etapa —la de la noosfera—  
conspiran las fuerzas del universo que están siempre produciendo siempre
nuevos  acontecimientos. Nuestra galaxia, y quién sabe si el propio universo,
está  moviéndose en función de esta convergencia en la diversidad
emergencias. En el  planeta Tierra, minúsculo punto azul-blanco perdido en una galaxia
irrisoria, en  un sistema solar marginal (a 27 mil años luz del centro de
la galaxia), se ha  cristalizado para nosotros la noosfera. Todavía es
frágil, pero trae con ella el  nuevo sentido de la evolución. Y no se excluye la
posibilidad de otros mundos  paralelos.  
La crisis actual have necesaria una salida salvadora y ésta es la noosfera.
 Entonces prevalecerá la comunión de mentes y corazones de los seres
humanos  entre sí, con la Tierra, con todo el universo y con el Atractor de todas
las  cosas.
